Kelly Robinson is currently a student intern at Liberty University where she is finishing her internship to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. She works under the direct supervision of Karen Knowlton, M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT-S.
Kelly’s Christian faith and spirituality have played a major, positive role in her life. She understands the importance of providing a safe place to discuss spiritual thoughts and deeper life struggles that can impact day-to-day functioning. Her hope is that you will feel comfortable in your sessions, and they will be a place where you never feel judged while allowing yourself to be expressive.
Kelly is drawn to working with elderly individuals, clients struggling with grief and clients recovering from substance dependance. She is deeply passionate about supporting individuals by focusing on helping them move towards becoming free from anxiety, depression, panic attacks, relationship/communication issues, and feeling “stuck”. She strives to provide a comfortable, safe, and warm environment.
Kelly will draw on your strengths and will actively and empathically work with you to understand your difficulties, solve problems, and expand your personal growth. She looks forward to your time together and working with you to reach your counseling goals.
Kelly worked as a Sr. Administrator for Edward Jones for thirty years and then changed her career path to follow God’s calling on her life to serve Him in counseling. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Business and a Master’s in Psychology from LeTourneau University, and is a member of the Psi Chi National Honor Society. She completed a practicum for her Master’s degree at Heartsway Hospice where she worked with patients and their families. She also worked as a Qualified Mental Health Professional for Community Healthcore, which were all based in Northeast Texas.
Kelly has two adult children and is very proud that her son and daughter, and their spouses, all serve God through their careers in public service and education. Kelly has two grandsons and one granddaughter, who are the joy of her life. The Scripture Kelly looks to in guiding and equipping her to do God’s work is Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the Glory in Christ Jesus, for ever and ever! Amen.”
