Crystal Cox, M.Ed., LPC, RPT
Crystal Cox is the founder and owner of Serenity Counseling Services. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist. Crystal helps children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with past trauma and abuse, grief, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and self-harming, PTSD, self-esteem, life transitions, boundaries, family conflict, stress and feeling overwhelmed, parenting, bullying, and more. She also provides couples counseling and works with individuals to strengthen their relationships and connections with others. Crystal works with children as young as 3, elderly individuals, and everyone in between. She is a member of the Association of Play Therapy and The American Association of Christian Counselors.
Frank Cullen, MA
Frank Cullen is a Christian Life Coach with a passion for helping people live the most fulfilled life possible. He specifically enjoys working with people involved in small businesses overcome obstacles so that they can focus their attention on growing and succeeding in the areas that they choose. He coaches individuals from all over the nation, using a confidential media platform, enabling his clients to fit in coaching time, without the bother of traveling to an office.
Karen Knowlton, M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT-S
Karen is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. She has a passion for helping people, and particularly loves working with parents, children, and those experiencing grief. She is trained in trauma-informed care, including training with Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).
Linda Mendoza, Office Manager
Linda is our incredibly valuable office manager. She feels it is an honor to help others, keeping in mind to work as for the Lord. The SCS team likes to call her the “glue that holds us all together”. Whether it is keeping our schedules organized (no easy feat with the growing number of counselors and clients we serve), or helping a client get the resources they need; she is a step ahead in almost every situation.
Marissa Collier, M.A., LPC-Intern Supervised by Richard Alford, M.S., LPC-S
Marissa joined the SCS team in December of 2019 as a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern under the LPC supervision of Richard Alford. The SCS team loves having Marissa on board because of her knowledge, her previous work experience, and her laughter! Marissa helps guide children, adolescents, and adults who are dealing with trauma, abuse, grief, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and self-harming, PTSD, self-esteem, life transitions, family conflict, stress, marital/couples’ issues, parenting, bullying, and more.
Katie Jo Tipps, M.S., LPC Applicant Supervised by Karen Knowlton, M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT-S
Katie Jo joined the SCS team in August of 2020 as a Licensed Professional Counselor Applicant under the LPC supervision of Karen Knowlton. Her playful and easy-going personality makes her a joy to have at work. She believes we are here to be servants of Christ first and that serving others is our highest calling.
